Media exists to provide the social fabric that fuels conversations and peer group boundaries. Let's not forget TV was "social media" in the 80s. In our now pluralist world, we've stopped believing in broadcast media's monolithic narrative.

We no longer hear the words "did you see that program on TV last night?" We no longer need to invest hours in watching TV to participate in tomorrow's conversations.
